Baghdad, The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahia Rasool, announced today, Saturday, the sending of the third batch of humanitarian and relief aid to the people of the besieged Gaza Strip, amounting to 11 tons.
Major General Rasool told the official agency: “In response to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to send humanitarian and relief aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, a third batch was sent loaded with 11 tons of humanitarian and medical aid provided by the Iraqi people through the committee formed under the direction of the Prime Minister.”
He added, "The aid was sent via a flight by the Iraqi Air Force to Al-Arish Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt and was delivered by the Iraqi Red Crescent to its Egyptian counterpart and then transported to the families of the Palestinian people in Gaza."
He pointed out that Iraq will continue the air bridge and send aid to the Palestinian people.
