Amman: Jordan's customs clearance companies achieved a historic milestone by processing more than 1 million customs declarations last year across various customs and border crossings.
According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Deifallah Abu Aqoula, Head of the Association of Owners of Clearance and Transport Companies (AOCTC), highlighted that the sector processed a total of 1.144 million customs declarations, surpassing the 952,000 declarations documented in 2024.
Abu Aqoula emphasized this achievement as an unprecedented milestone in the Kingdom's history, underscoring the effectiveness of Jordan's economic activities. He attributed this growth to the increased trade with Syria and the surge in transit trade, which has been on an upward trend since the beginning of 2025. He also applauded the Jordanian Customs Department and various security agencies for their efforts in expediting operations at customs and border crossings, facilitating quick transactions for goods both locally and in transit.
The logistics sector, described by Abu Aqoula as a fundamental pillar for supporting trade, includes 467 licensed customs clearance companies operating throughout the Kingdom, providing approximately 10,000 job opportunities for Jordanians. These companies are comprised of 2,000 branches distributed across all customs and border crossings.
