Jordan to Host Trilateral Meeting on Syrian Developments

Amman: Jordan has announced that a trilateral meeting will be convened in Amman with the United States and Syria to discuss the latest developments in Syria. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday and aims to address key issues concerning the ongoing situation in the war-torn country.

According to TRTworld.com, a statement from Jordan's Foreign Ministry on Sunday outlined the primary focus of the discussions. The talks will center on the current state of affairs in Syria and explore ways to support the country's rebuilding process. The objective is to establish a foundation that guarantees Syria's security, stability, and sovereignty, aligning with the aspirations of its people while safeguarding the rights of all Syrians.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al Shaibani and US Special Envoy for Syria and Ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barrack, will participate in the discussions, along with representatives from the three countries, as confirmed by the ministry. This meeting comes at a crucial time as Syria's transitional administration, formed following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad in late 2024, is actively working to restore stability after nearly 25 years of authoritarian rule.
