Amman: Chief Justice, Sheikh Abdul Hafiz Rabtah, emphasized the commitment of the Supreme Judge Department (SJD) to continue supporting the Sharia courts in Jerusalem, which are a crucial part of the Hashemite custodianship over the holy city's sites. He highlighted the "special" attention and care the SJD dedicates to these efforts. According to Jordan News Agency, Sheikh Rabtah, during a meeting with judges from the Sharia courts of first instance and appeal in Jordan and Jerusalem on Thursday, noted the significant role of Sharia courts as centers for social, family, and psychological security. These courts serve people seeking resolution of their cases in line with the requirements of Islamic Sharia. Sheikh Rabtah also underscored the importance of strengthening the principle of the rule of law, in accordance with the Royal directives outlined in the sixth Discussion Paper of His Majesty King Abdullah II. In this context, he stated that the SJD is striving towards digital transformation, enhancing operational performance to achieve customer satisfaction, easing access to services, and reducing time and effort. The department also aims to excel in building relationships with partners and improve resource efficiency in the management of Sharia courts and organizational units. Highlighting the SJD's accomplishments over recent years, Sheikh Rabtah pointed out its role in safeguarding minors' rights, qualifying judicial workers, and facilitating mediation and family reconciliation processes. The meeting addressed an array of issues intended to enhance the litigation environment, develop procedures, provide services, and improve judicial work to achieve swift justice, as stated in an SJD statement.
