Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, hosted a delegation of tour operators and media professionals from S.Korea, in a bid to enhance Jordanian-S.Korean tourist cooperation. According to a JTB statement Wednesday, the visit comes within the framework of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two sides, aimed to enhance bilateral tourist flow between Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and S.Korea. A tour was organized for the delegation, consisting of 6 S.Korean travel agencies and 3 journalists, which aimed to highlight Jordan's "rich" cultural heritage and "distinguished" tourist attractions. The statement added that the tour featured visits to "major" archeological sites in Amman, Madaba, and Petra, in addition to a previous tour in Abu Dhabi, which helped the S.Korean delegation explore the cultural and historical diversity of the region. The JTB, during the tour, said Jordanian tour operators and their S. Korean counterparts held business talks, aimed to enhance trade partnerships and develop "innovative" tourist products. The meeting also sought to exchange expertise in tourism marketing strategies and ways to organize tourist trips, which would contribute to increase the flow of tourists to Jordan, the statement pointed out. The visit comes within a "long-term strategic" plan that aims to enhance Jordanian-S.Korean tourist cooperation, which would contribute to deepen bilateral relations and increase flow of tourists to the Kingdom. Last year, the number of S.Korean tourists to Jordan reached about 14,500 visitors, wheras joint cooperation aims to increase the number "significantly" in the coming years, by launching "effective" promotion campaigns and "constructive" partnerships to support sustainable tourism growth.
