King Attends Launch of 2026-2029 Government Executive Programme

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II, along with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, participated in the launch of the government's 2026-2029 Executive Programme at the Prime Ministry. Prime Minister Jafar Hassan acknowledged the significance of the King's presence, stating it underscores the government's responsibility to effectively implement the programme, aiming for a positive impact on citizens.

According to Jordan News Agency, the executive programme, part of the Economic Modernisation Vision, encompasses 392 projects scheduled for financing through private sector partnerships. The investments are estimated at JD10 billion over the implementation period. Prime Minister Hassan announced that some of these investments, particularly in energy, water, transport, and infrastructure sectors, will commence this year.

The prime minister underscored the importance of capital expenditure in the health and education sectors, prioritising them for their vital role in empowering youth and addressing citizen needs. In terms of public sector modernisation, Hassan highlighted the necessity of an efficient public administration, noting ongoing development efforts and plans for a national academy to enhance public service delivery.

Addressing social protection, Hassan detailed the implementation of the National Social Protection Strategy, focusing on extending health insurance coverage and including National Aid Fund beneficiaries in the insurance programme at King Hussein Cancer Centre. In support of education, the King directed an increase in the Student Support Fund allocation, raising it by JD5 million to JD40 million, thus benefiting numerous students.

Ministers elaborated on the executive programme's features for the Economic Modernisation Vision and public sector modernisation, emphasising digital transformation, government procedure development, and the Social Protection Strategy. The second executive programme resulted from sectoral workshops hosted by the Royal Hashemite Court and interactive sessions with public and private sector experts.

The launch event was attended by Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, alongside officials, private sector representatives, and media figures.
