Ministers Announce Key Cabinet Decisions and Development Projects in Irbid.

Irbid: Ministers of Government Communication, Economic Affairs, and Health held a press conference in Irbid to announce crucial decisions taken by the Cabinet during its recent meeting in the northern governorate. The meeting aimed to establish a development vision for each governorate, aligning with the aspirations of their elected councils and civil bodies, as stated by Mohammad Momani, Minister of Government Communication. According to Jordan News Agency, Minister Momani highlighted significant development projects discussed in the meeting. These projects underwent in-depth dialogue with representatives from elected councils and civil bodies. Notably, the Cabinet approved the completion of procedures for constructing a water treatment plant in West Irbid. This project is set to sustainably enhance the sewage system, providing services to 17 villages and supporting a population of approximately 200,000 with a capacity of 12,000 cubic meters. Momani also announced the renewal of the radio broadcasting lice nse for the Greater Irbid Municipality, exempt from renewal fees, provided it refrains from broadcasting commercial advertisements, as per governing legislation. The government is committed to fast-tracking delayed projects, such as the new Princess Basma Hospital, which the Prime Minister visited to emphasize the importance of its expedited completion to start receiving patients by the last quarter of next year. Feras Hawari, Minister of Health, detailed that the infrastructure and finishing work for the new Princess Basma Hospital would conclude by this year's end, with a pilot operation set for the first quarter of the following year. The hospital, with its 566 expandable beds, will be the second largest in Jordan and serve as an educational facility for Yarmouk University. It will introduce various new medical specialties, including surgery and cardiac catheterization. Hawari further explained that a section of the new hospital would be dedicated to cancer treatment for the northern governorates, in coo rdination with the King Hussein Cancer Center. Additionally, plans are in place to rehabilitate the old Princess Basma Hospital into a 24-hour comprehensive health center, refurbish its outpatient clinics with JD2.2 million, and expand both Princess Badea Hospital and Princess Rahma Children's Hospital.
