Manama, With reference to the Council of Representatives’ statement, the National Communication Centre of the Kingdom of Bahrain can confirm that the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Tel Aviv returned to the Kingdom some time ago, and that the Ambassador of Israel to the Kingdom of Bahrain had also departed the Kingdom previously, also confirming that direct flights between Bahrain International Airport and Tel Aviv Airport had stopped as of several weeks ago.

The Centre stresses the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to enhance security and stability and consolidate peace in the region. This is achieved by giving the Palestinian people their legitimate rights and finding a just outcome to the Palestinian issue, leading to a two-state solution in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative. This must be delivered in a way that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Centre highlighted that the priority at this stage is to protect the lives of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law and secure urgent humanitarian corridors to deliver relief and medical aid to the Gaza Strip. The government reaffirms the need to spare the region from the consequences of a new spiral of violence through finding a clear political outcome that leads to a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace, delivering stability and security for all.
