Over 14 million people have been displaced by the war in Sudan, either inside or outside its borders, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Tuesday. This is the worst displacement disaster the world has seen this year. At a press conference, IOM Director-General Amy Pope stated that 11 million of these displaced persons are internally displaced, while 3.1 million have fled to neighboring countries. She also mentioned that 200,000 of the displaced have been fled since September. Pope confirmed that half of Sudan's population currently needs assistance, as they are unable to access shelter, clean drinking water, or healthcare. She noted that more than half of the displaced are women, and more than a quarter are children under the age of five. Source: Jordan News Agency
