Amman: Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan met with the head and members of the Union of Centrist Parties Parliamentary Bloc at the House of Representatives. The bloc comprises six parties, and the meeting centered on advancing a comprehensive modernisation programme, which includes political, economic, and administrative reforms.
According to Jordan News Agency, Hassan affirmed the government's commitment to implementing the priorities set forth in the ministerial statement, as outlined in the Royal Designation Letter. He emphasized the government's focus on stimulating economic growth and expanding the national economy to generate job opportunities. Hassan also revealed plans for launching major strategic projects in 2025 to increase foreign investment and enhance economic growth over the upcoming four years.
The Prime Minister highlighted the government's success in reducing the debt servicing cost on the Eurobond loan due this year by 40 percent and pledged ongoing efforts to lower public debt interest. He stressed the importance of institutionalizing social responsibility as a sustainable approach aligned with national development priorities and commended national institutions for their support in the health and education sectors.
Zuhair Khashman, head of the Union of Centrist Parties Parliamentary Bloc, emphasized the crucial partnership between the government and the parliamentary bloc in shaping the nation's future. He described the bloc as a national project with an independent party foundation and a comprehensive agenda that aligns with their election programmes. Khashman highlighted the urgency of transforming the economic landscape to create job opportunities and reduce unemployment, advocating for empowering the private sector and fostering a collaborative relationship between public and private sectors.
Khashman praised the government's decisions during its first 100 days, noting their positive impact on the people and the national economy, and reflecting a strong commitment to government accountability. The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Economic Affairs Muhannad Shehadeh and Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Munim Odat.
