Russia: Russia claimed on Sunday that it took control of a village in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region. The Defense Ministry stated that its forces captured the village of Podoly, which is located approximately 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) east of the front-line town of Kupiansk.
According to Anadolu Agency, Ukraine's General Staff reported in a morning update that Russian forces launched 14 assaults against its positions near eight settlements in the Kupiansk direction. The settlements mentioned include Kucherivka, Kurylivka, and Petropavlivka, which are all near Podoly, though the village itself was not mentioned in the report.
Ukrainian authorities have yet to comment on Russia's claim, and independent verification remains challenging due to the ongoing war, which is nearing its fifth year.
