Amman: The Saudi Embassy in Amman celebrated the Kingdom's Founding Day on Monday, with the participation of Jordanian officials, heads of diplomatic missions, academics, media representatives, and other distinguished guests.
According to Jordan News Agency, Charge d'Affaires Mohammed bin Hassan Moanes praised the deep-rooted and historic ties between Saudi Arabia and Jordan, emphasizing the commitment of both countries' leaderships to strengthening their long-standing relationship. He highlighted the strong foundations of cooperation, mutual respect, and shared values that continue to bind the two nations.
"Our hearts are filled with joy as we commemorate Saudi Arabia's Founding Day," Moanes said. "This occasion marks the establishment of the First Saudi State by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727 (1139 AH). It is also a celebration of a proud and enduring civilization that has stood the test of time. The unity and national cohesion laid down by King Abdulaziz Al Saud have been instrumental in achieving the Kingdom's progress and prosperity."
He added that the occasion serves as a reminder of Saudi Arabia's rich history and cultural heritage, reinforcing values of national pride and unity. "This day tells the story of our ancestors' bravery, the wisdom of our leaders, and the spirit of solidarity that has shaped the nation's legacy," he noted.
The event featured a variety of cultural activities, including a photography exhibition showcasing Saudi Arabia's historical and cultural depth, a documentary film highlighting the Kingdom's heritage, live oud and rababa performances, a falconry showcase, and traditional Saudi coffee, attire, and cuisine.
