Culture Minister Inaugurates ‘Painting Joy’ Exhibition to Aid Gaza’s Children.

Amman: Culture Minister has officially opened the 'Painting Joy' exhibition, an initiative aimed at supporting the children of Gaza. The exhibition, organized as part of the ongoing Jerash Festival activities, seeks to use art as a medium to rally support and funding for Gaza's youth. According to Jordan News Agency, the exhibition proceeds will be channeled through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) to aid Gaza's children. Rawashdeh emphasized the exhibition's alignment with Jordan's longstanding diplomatic efforts, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, to defend Gaza and promote peace in the region. He highlighted the role of art in conveying powerful messages of support to the global community. Samawi, another key figure at the event, underlined the exhibition's significance in mobilizing efforts for Gaza's children. He expressed pride in the initiative, which blends art with humanitarianism, hoping it would bring joy to the young faces in Gaza. He encouraged public participation in this artis tic and humanitarian effort. The exhibition, backed by the Jerash Festival and organized by the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association (JORPAA), features 39 paintings by artists from Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. JORPAA President Ibrahim Al-Khatib noted that many artworks highlight the ongoing genocide in Gaza, depicting violations against children, women, and the elderly by the Israeli occupation army. The diverse artworks employ techniques such as realism, impressionism, abstract expressionism, and modernism, utilizing collage, acrylic on canvas, and mixed media. In addition to paintings, the exhibition showcases costumes and bedspreads from Jordanian and Palestinian heritage, along with the novel "Moujoua" (Hurt) by freed prisoner Israa Jaabis, who attended the event as a guest of honor.
