EMRC chief visits JPRC, inspects oil derivatives stock in preparation for winter season

Chaiman of the Board of Commissioners, Chief Executive Officer of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC), Zeyad Al Saaeda, stressed the need to provide sufficient strategic stocks of oil derivatives and LPG to meet citizens needs and ensure the provision of services in a safe, stable, and sustainable manner, especially during the upcoming winter season. During a visit on Wednesday to the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) in Zarqa Governorate, in the presence of its Director General, Abdel Karim Alawin, Director General of the Jordan Petroleum Products Marketing Company (JoPetrol), Khaled Al-Zubi, and a number of managers and specialists in the EMRC and the JPRC, Al Saaeda lauded the JPRC's efforts and role in enhancing the national economy and energy security in the Kingdom, where the latest statistics regarding the stock of various oil derivatives were reviewed. The visit was part of a series of field visits conducted by the EMRC to the sites of licensed entities in the sector aimed at ensuring the sustainability of service provision to citizens, strengthening partnerships and cooperation with the public and private sectors, and encouraging investment in projects and initiatives that serve the interests of the sector, according to an EMRC statement on Wednesday. Al Saaeda also visited JoPetrol and was briefed on its achievements and challenges, as well as its future plans to expand the establishment and operation of public electric vehicle charging stations, clean energy production, and carbon emission reduction. Al Saaeda said that the EMRC continues its monitoring role on companies operating in the sector and helping them to overcome challenges to ensure that measures are taken to guarantee the continuity of service provision and ensure the availability of kerosene, diesel, and gasoline at fuel stations with the required quality and the announced price, and the provision of gas cylinders to citizens in all regions of the Kingdom, especially in the winter season. He underlined the impor tance of EMRC monitoring and emergency center's role in coordination with the entities operating in the sector and following up on their performance to ensure a quick response to complaints and inquiries of citizens and the provision of oil derivatives in coordination with the JPRC, marketing companies, owners of fuel stations, filling centers and gas warehouses and ensure compliance with performance standards and the application of EMRC-approved emergency plans in a manner that serves the interest of the sector and benificiaries.
