Amman: The Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) has announced the launch of a new training program aimed at enhancing the skills of drivers and workers in Jordan's land transport sector, with the program set to commence on July 1.
According to Jordan News Agency, the LTRC stated that this initiative is part of efforts to implement existing legislation that governs the land transport sector in Jordan. The program's primary goals are to improve worker efficiency, enhance traffic safety, reduce the number of accidents, and elevate the performance standards of transport workers across the Kingdom.
The LTRC highlighted that the training will cover various sectors, including tourist and rental transport, public buses, transport services for educational institutions and private schools, small public passenger vehicles, and heavy freight trucks. The program is a direct implementation of Article (24) of the Passenger Transport Regulation Law of 2017, which mandates specific requirements for passenger transport drivers, including the completion of designated courses.
The cost of the training course is set at a one-time fee of JD20, with successful participants receiving a certificate valid for five years from the date of issuance. The LTRC also confirmed the readiness of the Jordan Traffic Institute and the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan (RACJ) to conduct these courses across the nation. A sufficient number of participants in each governorate is required to initiate the training activities.
