JWPF Advocates for Legislative Reforms to Boost Economic Role of Jordanian Women

Amman: Jordanian Women Parliamentarian Forum (JWPF), in cooperation with the Middle East University (MEU), organized a dialogue session under the theme: "Economic Participation of Jordanian Women."

According to Jordan News Agency, JWPF Chairwoman, MP Dr. Tamara Nassereddine, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the entrepreneurial potential of Jordanian women and highlighting their prominent presence in Jordan's higher education sector. Dr. Nassereddine stressed that empowering women economically is a crucial step toward enhancing national productivity and achieving equitable development.

Dr. Nassereddine pointed out that despite significant milestones achieved by Jordanian women in various roles, there is a pressing need to create a conducive legislative and executive environment that removes the barriers hindering their full economic participation. The JWPF is committed to supporting women in entrepreneurship, vocational education, and technology, viewing these areas as strategic investments in Jordan's future.

As part of its strategic vision, the JWPF is ready to advocate for any legislation that fosters women's economic empowerment and facilitates their comprehensive involvement in Jordan's developmental agenda. Dr. Nassereddine also highlighted the forum's previous initiatives, which have focused on women's issues through field visits and structured dialogues, calling for actionable recommendations, including the proposal to hold a national conference on women's economic empowerment in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

The dialogue concluded with a consensus among participants to conduct an in-depth scientific study on the current economic status of women, develop actionable solutions, expand women-centered vocational and technical education programs, and enhance participation in Jordan's industrial and technology sectors, identified as promising opportunities for growth.
