Two Child Patients From Gaza Return After Treatment At Jordanian Hospitals

Amman: Two child patients from Gaza have concluded their treatment at Jordanian hospitals and have returned to the Strip with five family members via the King Hussein Bridge.

According to Jordan News Agency, the patients received medical care after being evacuated to Jordan by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation. This marks the second group of patients to return to Gaza following their treatment in Jordan. Previously, 17 children received treatment at Jordanian hospitals and returned to Gaza on May 13, as part of the Jordan Medical Corridor initiative, aimed at providing medical support to Gazans.

Since March, numerous child patients from Gaza have been receiving treatment in Jordan under this initiative. The Jordan Medical Corridor is a part of a series of efforts by the Kingdom to address the humanitarian issues in Gaza, which also include dispatching field hospitals, specialized clinics, and sending medical and food aid caravans.

When the medical corridor was launched, Jordanian officials stated that patients and their families would return to Gaza after completing their treatment. This approach allows Jordan to treat more patients while supporting the resilience of Palestinians in their homeland and countering displacement efforts.

The patients who returned on Tuesday had completed all treatment phases, as confirmed by hospital-issued medical reports. During their stay, they and their families received medical care and accommodation.
